The Yoga of Food and Eating

Yoga brings balance in the body and mind. The yoga of eating is about not eating too much or too little.  Like yoga postures, this takes practice and compassion.

When your digestive system and inner organs get overworked trying to eliminate waste, you will feel tired. Along with this fatigue, regular overeating comes  with excess weight and  potential diabetes, joint problems, mental health and happiness blocks and other physical ailments.

Fuel and sustain your body enough or you will feel weak and not have power or vitality. When you choose foods, make sure they nourish you and give you strength and confidence. Though many convenient snacks are delicious (salt and chocolate), they do not offer the body essential nutrients, vitamins, or protein.

Choose foods that make you feel alive and want to move. Next time you have a snack craving from boredom, fatigue, stress or emotions- consider trying yoga or meditation.  Notice if the craving passes. If you’re body is still hungry, honor your body with a piece of fruit or some nuts. Enjoy!

Give yourself as much support as you can to feel good, happy, and healthy. Namaste!
