Driving home from the Catskills we outraced a severe rainstorm. There was zero visibility. Sheets of water fell on the car sideways. To heighten the intensity, the interstate was under construction and there was only one quirky winding lane to use. I softly hummed AUM to stay calm and practiced slowly breathing as I drove. After I began trembling, we pulled over safely. Ben took the wheel and we continued on, pausing for a break in the storm every few exits as necessary. Crossing into Vermont the rain began to clear. The rainbow pictured above greeted us along 22A. The pink and purple shades of sunset gave life to a magical sky that truly felt like a welcome home.
