Yoga is a balance of passivity and activity- work and rest. We embraced the qualities of winter: silence, stillness, softness, inward focus… while maintaining a sense of presence, breath, and warmth. The first portion of this workshop focused on relaxing the physical body. Restorative yoga poses followed warm-ups (well-aligned, supported poses in which one can deeply breathe), within which we explored guided breath work and meditation. As the body relaxes, so too can the mind relax. As mind and body link with awareness of breath, one can access the subtle, energy body. Only pranayama in yoga can heal energetic tensions, not just asana or even meditation. Sound Healing is another power-tool for releasing energy that is stuck. It is objective and beautiful, powerful and liberating. Enjoy this sound bath with Melinda.
