Frendly Vibes at Frendly Gathering

June 29, 2014

Signing on last minute to manage the Box Office at Frendly Gathering was one of the best decisions I’ve made this summer. I love the vibe at this homegrown VT event created by Burton riders, Danny Davis and Jack Mitrani. Frendly crushed it. I’ve never been so busy and loved every minute. This was the most successful year to date.

I was impressed with the Woods Stage (made from a teepee), the Pond Parties, the human-sized nests made up in the trees for chilling and DJ sets, the music, the kindness among strangers and the skateboard half-pipe they brought in for people to play.

I’m stoked to join an amazing crew: Peter GrossPatrick WilliamLiam GriffinBrett BoldAnnie BeinerMary BogJames GriffithsTripp HaennOliver Fischer,Ted CroftAli Kaukas and many more. Special thanks to #DannyDavis#JackMitrani.

“The Frendly Manifesto: We strive to be curators within a community of people who believe in cultivating lasting frendships in an effort to foster collaborative success and rid future generations of exclusivity. We live during a time in which we have the resources to create a “we” generation strong enough to prevail over a “me” mentality. This gives us an incredible opportunity to develop a tangible environment of kindness, generosity, and respect. Historically we used our sport and collective ethos to unite a diverse group of athletes. Within just a few years it became clear that this Frendly movement was meant to transform the lives of people around the world.”

Wanderlust Stratton Highlights

June 26, 2014

Working at Wanderlust Festival allows me to be a part of an amazing family (the crew), the witness to positive moments of transformation, and the opportunity to visit beautiful ski resorts throughout North America.

Here are some photos and highlights from our first stop at #WLStratton, Vermont (including music by Erik Krasno, Joe Russo, Marco Benevento, and more).

Take Your Yoga Outdoors Show | Yoga Everywhere

June 12, 2014

Take your yoga off the mat and combine your practice with the natural world.

Our guests, Journey Blain and Danny Morris guided by host Jane Lanza show you the fun and opportunities available in the park. One simple example is the effect that slightly uneven ground can have on poses previously thought to be routine for you.

In the show, Jane and our guests guide you through specific adaptations to some common poses that you can use in a park or forest environment. Beside that, you’ll see just how much pure fun you can have with yoga outdoors. It really is a different vibe compared to a studio.

Here are some of the things you’ll learn in the episode

  • Simple standing stretch
  • Downward dog adapted to a tree
  • Side stretch with a tree
  • Several other tree adapted poses
  • Practice mindfulness in nature
  • Mindfulness “on the move”
  • Several picnic table poses
  • Handstands adapted to the “real” earth
  • And More…..

Mountain Jam Festival kicks off an awesome summer

June 9, 2014
MJ 2014 1

MJ 2014 1Happy Mountain Jam everybody,” as Warren Haynes says (festival founder and longtime guitarist with The Allman Brothers Band and founding member of Gov’t Mule). It was for me. Counterculture and music festivals remind me that I’m not alone. That leaving behind normal can be freedom. That music can set you free.

According to Wikipedia, “In its short history, Mountain Jam has become one of the top music festivals in the U.S. and the premier festival in the Northeast. Rolling Stone Magazine named the Mountain Jam Festival one of the Top 8 Music Festivals in the Country.”

Ben Lanza worked as a Stage Manager on the West Stage for All Phases Event Group.  All Phases is also the production company we work for at the Wanderlust Festivals.

MJ ben lanza stage manageI’m grateful for Mountain Jam and the opportunities Ben and I have to work in this business, for the music:

for the creativity everywhere, for the old friends I saw there and new friends I made.
